So, the inexpensive Voyager is my #1 and the expensive Sennheiser is #2. This does sound a little better in the absence of ambient noise, has great battery life, but a) is uncomfortable in my case, b) lacks the ability to announce callers and c) has controls that are hard to use (unless you're fluent in Braille). PS: I also have a Sennheiser Presence (much more expensive). Likes: Comfort, light weight, very good noise cancellation, easy-to-use controls (once you get used to them), good sound quality, announces incoming callers (very useful), great range (can leave my Windows phone in the car, and still receive calls from inside the adjacent convenience store - 35+ feet of range.)ĭislikes: Battery life slightly overstated (but still very good), magnetic charging (pain if you don't use the optional charging case which forces you to fold up the headset first), web updater program (funky)Ī great value in a comfortable smartphone headset with good sound quality and features.

There was a really annoying bug in the past (with the smart sensors) that killed the mic during phone calls - this seems to be have been corrected (new software releases) I've had many of these over the years - historically, these Voyager Legends haven't lasted very long, although they are used very hard in my case (I wear the headset > 8 hours/day, and take it on and off my ear regularly). Great functionality with cell phone, comfortable, good sound quality / noise cancellation Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned Smaller would have been less likely to pull my ear down. Only thing I would have made different is the diameter of the piece that actually goes over the ear. Controls are easy enough to work, once you memorize which does which. It is loud enough that you can hear it well over road noise, other conversations, TV, etc. Since it only rests on your ear canal and does not go deep in your ear, normal hearing is hardly changed. The ear buds are small, medium and large. Charges up pretty fast though I probably haven't used more than 25% of the battery over the course of a day. For convenience I put on a USB extension cord (male/female) and made it a three 3-1/2' cord. Love the feature that tells you how much ta lk time you have left.

Suggest you go online and get the full manual for operations. Reasonable range for a Bluetooth, being away from the unit and receiving calls and messages. They recover, though I'm careful to switch ears every few days. It's heavy enough that it pulls my ears down a bit. It's comfortable to wear though it takes a day or two to get use to it.

After resetting the network settings and updating the phone's Bluetooth software, it sounded fine.
Turned out NOT to be the unit, it was my new phone. Right out of the box it sounded tinny and had poor quality sound.
However, if the laptop is already turned on when I turn on Internet Sharing, it is unable to connect until I turn off the Bluetooth radio on the phone.Good unit, after I updated my network settings. If I turn on Internet Sharing, then boot my laptop, it hooks up to the Wi-Fi from the phone just fine.
Oh, yes, another issue that seems to be related. Has anyone else had the Bluetooth disconnect issue while sharing the phone's Internet? Or does it seem to be a conflict between my particular Bluetooth and WP combination? Yes, I know, the headset costs 2x what the phone costs, but it is well worth it. I'm using the Plantronics Voyager Legend headset. Perhaps it is an issue with my particular headset, so will also get in touch with Plantronics in case there is an update that will help. It seems to be working fine, until I attempt to make use of it, then it disconnects. The issue I am having is when I am using the Internet Sharing for my Laptop to have Internet access, and I receive or attempt to make a call, my Bluetooth headset will "disconnect" and will not reconnect until I disable the Internet Sharing. My Laptop is running Windows 8.1, completely up to date as of this morning. I'm using Internet Sharing so that my Laptop can share my Internet on my phone. No developer preview stuff, but am completely up to date as of a few hours ago for all the phone updates available from AT&T. I'm running a Lumia 520 in the United States, with Cyan and WP 8.1.
